Carboset® CA 1009 is an APEO-, formaldehyde-, and NMP-free* water- based acrylic / polyurethane hybrid polymer designed for formulating roof topcoats and primers. It can be formulated into coatings under 50 g/L VOC (USA).

Carboset® CA 1009 demonstrates excellent bitumen bleed-through resistance, making it ideal for use on new or weathered bitumen substrates. Carboset® CA 1009 can be applied over a variety of roof and facade construction materials, including asphaltic roofing plies, concrete block, brick, stucco, EIFS and fiber-cement. It can be used as a topcoat or self-priming system, allowing customers to leverage a single polymer for multiple construction applications. Carboset® CA 1009 has excellent alkali resistance,making it suitable for use over fresh (high pH) masonry surfaces.
